Privacy Policy

Muddies Cricket Club respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what information is handled when you use muddies.com.au, which third-party services the site relies on, and how to reach us about anything privacy-related. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

Muddies Cricket Club is a community cricket club based at Judy Holt Sports Park, Cnr Randall & Bailey Roads, Birkdale QLD 4159. We operate this website at muddies.com.au. For anything in this policy, contact us at president@muddies.com.au.

What we collect through this site

Very little. This website has no user accounts, no sign-up forms and no comment sections, and it does not set its own cookies.

  • Contact details you choose to share. If you email or phone us using the links on this site, we receive whatever you send us (such as your name, email address and message). We use it only to respond to you and manage club business.
  • Basic technical logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may keep short-lived server logs — such as IP address, browser type and pages requested — for security and to keep the site running. We don't use these to identify visitors.
03

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are popular. It is a privacy-friendly service: it does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and reports only aggregated, anonymised statistics. See Vercel's analytics privacy notes for details.

04

Live scores, fixtures & PlayHQ

The Match Centre on our homepage shows fixtures, results, ladders and scorecards sourced from PlayHQ, Cricket Australia's competition platform. Player and team names shown there come from PlayHQ's publicly available competition data. Your browser requests this data from our own server — it does not talk to PlayHQ directly, and no personal information about you is sent to PlayHQ when you view scores.

Registering to play happens on PlayHQ's own website, not ours. Any information you provide during registration is collected by PlayHQ and Cricket Australia under PlayHQ's privacy policy.

05

Embedded content & third parties

Some parts of the site load content from third parties. When they load, those providers receive standard technical information from your browser (such as your IP address) and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies:

Links to external sites — PlayHQ, Facebook, Instagram, and our sponsors' websites — take you off muddies.com.au, where this policy no longer applies.

06

Cookies

We do not set any cookies of our own, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Embedded third-party content (such as the Facebook feed or Google Map, above) may set its own cookies — you can block or clear these at any time through your browser settings, and the rest of the site will keep working normally.

07

Children & photos

We are a family club with many junior players, and we take their safety and privacy seriously. This website does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Photos and videos of club activities — including junior cricket — are only published in line with club policy and the consents gathered through registration. If a photo of you or your child appears on this site or our social channels and you'd like it removed, email us and we will take it down promptly. See also our Child Safety & Safeguarding page.

08

How we hold & protect information

Club correspondence is held in our club email accounts, and member records are managed within PlayHQ. We don't sell personal information to anyone, and we only share it where needed to run the club (for example with Queensland Cricket or Cricket Australia for competition administration) or where the law requires it. The website is served over HTTPS, and our systems are access-restricted to club officials who need them.

09

Access, correction & complaints

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it — just email president@muddies.com.au and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy concern, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we add new features to the site. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show the current version. Significant changes will be noted on our social channels.
